MacLoan is shareware. It is not free. If you keep MacLoan in your library and use it, you are obligated to pay the shareware fee of $15. (You have 15 days to decide if you want to keep it in your library.) Please mail your fee to:
Robert K. Valentine
10743 Hungerford Pl.
Cerritos, California 90701
With your paid shareware fee, you will receive documentation for the program and notices of future updates (I am constantly improving the program). If you send a blank disk and a self-addressed, stamped envelope (postage $.50), I will also mail you version 3.7F, or later, which does not have the irritating reminder to pay your shareware fee when you exit the program.
Feel free to pass this program along to others who might find it useful, but please include this file with it. You may not sell this program but you may charge for nominal copying and administrative costs.
I am a C.P.A. and developed this program for my practice to help in those situations where a client is considering the options associated with borrowing money at various interest rates or figuring the amount of the interest deduction for the year for tax purposes. Many times, not all of the variables are known (interest rate, monthly payment, principal, etc.). This program comes in handy because it will solve for the unknown factor if the other two are known. It will compute the monthly payment amount, the number of months it will take to pay off a loan, and compute the interest rate.
If you have any suggestions, comments, or problems with MacLoan 3.7E, please write to me at the above address and I will attempt to help you. When writing, please let me know what type of Macintosh you are using, for example 128K Mac, 512K Mac, 512KE, Mac Plus, etc. (you get the picture!). Also, let me know in what type of situations you have found MacLoan useful, i.e., refinancing a loan, your business, C.P.A. practice, etc.
Please note that you must have an ImageWriter file in your system folder so that the results of the calculations can be printed.
